I propose integrating Flarum's mention system with hovercards. I believe it would be beneficial to display hovercards when hovering over a mentioned user (e.g., @huseyinfiliz).
This is what I ended up with when implementing something similar. The hover effect provides quick access to user information without navigating away from the current discussion.
Member tagging and group tagging don't work the same way. We don't necessarily have to include group tags. What do you think?
Think about Twitter — in fact, Flarum's member and group tagging system is quite similar. The @ symbol is used for mentioning members, while the # symbol is used for groups/tags.
Great idea! This would definitely improve the user experience. When we look at Twitter, hovering over member mentions shows a hovercard, whereas hashtags don't have that functionality.
I agree with this proposal. The hovercard implementation would be very useful for quickly viewing user profiles without leaving the discussion thread.
What if, instead of the original post text, we added the discussion title preceded by an upward arrow icon?
I think this is a brilliant idea! Hovercards would definitely enhance user experience and make discussions more interactive.
This would be really useful for moderators too. Being able to quickly see user info without leaving the discussion is perfect.
Has anyone started working on this yet? I'd be happy to contribute to the development if needed.
Great proposal! This feature would make Flarum even more user-friendly. I'm looking forward to seeing this implemented.
This reminds me of similar features in other platforms. It would be great to have this in Flarum too.
I like the concept. We should consider the performance implications and make sure it doesn't slow down the forum.
Thank you all for the positive feedback! I'm excited to see where this discussion goes and hopefully see this feature implemented.
